Quorum priores tres, primò quidem Andreas Alpagus Bellunensis philosophus, ac medicus eminentissimus, arabicæque linguæ peritissimus, (qui duos etiam ultimos tractatus ex arabico in latinum transtulit) infinitis penè ex codicum arabicorum collatione emendationibus, ac indice nominum arabicorum ab ipso interpretatorum ornaverat. Postea verò Benedictus Rinius Venetus philosophus, ac medicus præstantissimus, eruditissimis lucubrationibus decoraverat : castigationes Alpagi suis locis inferens, plurimasque alias in margine addens, locosque etiam quamplurimos in margine indicans, in quibus Avicenna, aut eandem oppositamve sententiam scribit, aut aliquid ab aliis auctoribus (hoc est Hippocrate, Aristotele, Dioscoride, Galeno, Paulo, Aetio, Alexandro, Serapione, Rasi, Halyabatte, & Alfarabio) excerpsit : voces etiam arabicas quamplurimas explicans : latinum præterea indicem medicamentorum simplicium in fronte secundi libri adjiciens. Novissimè autem idem Rinius in hac editione toto volumine summa iterum diligentia perlecto, adhibitis etiam exemplaribus Alpagi scripti (quorum copiam nuper nobis fecerunt ejus hæredes) innumeris penè aliis tum castogationibus, tum locorum citationibus præsertim in Canticis illustravit. His accessit vita Avicennæ ex Sorsano Arabe ejus discipulo à Nicolao Massa philosopho, & medico egregio sumpta, & latinè scripta. Index in totum Avicennæ volumen locupletissimus..
