pANN E. AUSTIN, Michigan State University/p pANN E. AUSTIN is a professor at Michigan State University, holding the Dr. Mildred B. Erickson Distinguished Chair in Higher, Adult, and Life-long Education (HALE). Her research concerns faculty careers and professional development, teaching and learning in higher education, and organizational change and transformation in higher education. She was a Fulbright Fellow in South Africa (1998), the 2001-2002 President of the Association for the Study of Higher Education (ASHE), and is currently Co-P.I. of a National Science Foundation Center concerning preparing future faculty in STEM fields. Her research also has been funded by the Lilly Endowment, the Pew Charitable Trusts, the Spencer Foundation, and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. She has recently published Paths to the Professoriate: Strategies for Enriching the Preparation of Future Faculty (co-edited with D. H. Wulff, Jossey-Bass, 2004). In 1998, she was named one of the forty "Young Leaders of the American academy" by Change: The Magazine of Higher Learning./p ‎(1)
